Rock Oil Cross Country Championship Round 1
Lee Dell Rochdale
OL11 5UN
The Brand NEW 2024 Rock Oil Cross Country Championship FINALLY gets started as RAW Enduro head for the Lancashire Hills; the always popular venue of Lee Dell, awaits after a yearlong rest.
For this opening round, clerk of the course, Wayne Braybrook plans to run the savage (optional) Hill climb up from the Fishing Lodge, which “if” ridden successfully, can save around 45 seconds per lap. This was a firm favourite last year as riders gambled on the shorter route to save time. Those wanting an easier day can use the more scenic, longer route around the hillside to the top of the climb. Other parts of the Hidden Valley will see the old Mill Ruins, the Cobbled tracks, and awesome flowing hillsides with fast, open quality Cross Country Turf to play on.
The 2023 event was awesome, with hard, easy routes, long trails, and grass hill climbs. 2024 will see a return to the LONG LAP at Lee Dell.
Adult Race starting at 11 am
Youth Riders will be on track at 9 am for their own 1.5-hour race.
